Statement on the Recovery of Victims at Algo Centre Mall in Elliot Lake

On behalf of the Board of Directors of OLG, and all OLG employees, we express our deepest condolences on the loss of lives in the recent Algo Centre Mall roof collapse in Elliot Lake. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victims of the horrible tragedy.

We join all Ontarians in extending our thanks for the efforts of emergency workers who struggled under difficult and dangerous circumstances to minimize the loss of life. We are particularly mindful of the personal circumstances of the two victims, one of whom was an employee of a local OLG lottery retailer, which deepens our sadness over the sudden and shocking deaths.

From the entire OLG organization, we extend our hope for healing to all citizens of Elliot Lake who are in some way affected by these tragic events.
